What do a butcher have to do with a file server and a beer connoisseur with big data?

Thomas Gomell is CEO of migRaven GmbH and developer of numerous software solutions around the topic of file servers. For more than 20 years he has been an entrepreneur in the field of IT security for large companies and was, among other things, significantly involved in the development of the 8MAN authorization management. From a large number of projects around file server migration and consolidation, he knows the challenges and approaches like no other. However, he started his career atypically with an apprenticeship as a butcher in his parents' business.

Karsten Morschett is partner manager at migRaven GmbH. He is a trained banker, specialist in marketing and management and an actor who is always keen to discover new things. Since he likes to brew beer in his spare time and has been a certified beer sommelier since 2017, he now regularly invites you to a beer for the IT talk "Does a butcher meet a beer sommelier".

The podcast will start on November 16.11.2020, 1 with episode XNUMX: "Researcher and file server"

Karsten Morschett brings the right beer to the first episode "Research and Fileserver" and asks Thomas Gomell why you shouldn't "care" about the chaos on the fileserver and how you can relieve users of the fear of confusing familiar folder structures and unnecessary files separate.
In addition, you will learn more about the current research project "Dare2Del" at the University of Bamberg, which focuses on supporting employees in hiding and deleting irrelevant digital objects such as files or sensor data.

  • Why should it be better to start cleaning up the file server today instead of tomorrow?
  • Do data storage costs play a role at all?
  • How can you relieve the user of the fear of separating from familiar folder structures and unnecessary files?
  • What benefits do tidy file servers have for individual users and the entire company?

Following the presentation of this first episode, you are cordially invited to add your own mustard to the discussion. Take the opportunity to exchange ideas with one of the most experienced experts on the subject of file servers.
